Holy cow…come to a conference and get a free iPod? That’s right!  I’m here at MoblEd at Pasadena City College, coordinated by Michael Berman, of Amberman Ltd., and Laurie Burrus, Director of Digital Media Center at Pasadena City College, and they’re giving away iPod Touches! The first 60 educators who registered for this free conference will receive a free iPod Touch tomorrow morning from which they will be encouraged to engage, interact and discuss topics relevant to the conference via the live web portal.  Pretty sweet deal.  The conference is sponsored by the Multimedia & Entertainment Initiative, Economic Workforce Development and the California Community College’s Chancellor’s Office.

Tonight I was honored to participate in a panel discussion at the conference along with Bill Rankin from Abeline Christian University, David Middleton from Seton Hall University and Lynda Weinman of Lynda.com.  Michael Berman was the panel moderator and offered some thoughtful questions about how mobile devices are transforming the learning landscape in higher education.
Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a presentation about my use of VoiceThread to promote collaboration and community in my online classes.  Should be a great day!
