Humanizing Online Teaching and Learning
This 4-week professional development course builds upon the 2-week course I designed and facilitated in my previous role at CSU Channel Islands. It takes the foundations of humanizing (presence, empathy, and awareness) and folds in additional equity-minded theories and research.

Online Teaching Preparation Program (OTPP)
CI takes pride in creating a family-like experience for students. The OTPP program contributes to this strategy by placing an emphasis on humanizing online learning. I remotely facilitate the Online Teaching Preparation Program (OTPP) at CSU Channel Islands, a a 6-week online course designed to align with the CSU Quality Online Learning and Teaching framework.
Faculty who participate in the program are immersed in a community-oriented, connected learning experience that I facilitate from my home office, which is several hundred miles from campus. Each faculty experience is unique, of course, but data we've collected from the participants shows that the program is shifting faculty attitudes about online learning and opening eyes about how to cultivate instructor-student and student-student relationships from a distance.
