Yesterday, I visited the WACK! feminist art exhibition at the MoCA/Geffen in Los Angeles. I wish you all could have been there with me. What an amazing experience it was to explore the work of over 100 women feminist artists who have dramatically contributed to revolutionizing the art world through their powerful artwork.

Please take some time to review the WACK! website which will continue to develop in the near future. Stay tuned for more podcasts of lectures and related events.

have fun!!

  1. Interesting stuff. I’m not really into performance art, but I think that art is a good way to get a point across. I saw a very interesting display at the Crocker Museum where Betty Saar has a very strong display about racism.

  2. Betye Saar’s work is also included in the WACK! exhibition. Her efforts to assert gender and race as viable and important content in art were integral to the feminist art revolution. I’m glad, Adam, that you were able to see Saar’s work. There was also an amazing show last fall/winter at the San Jose Museum of art called “Family Legacies” that included the work of Betye, Allison and Lezley Saar (Betye’s two daughters). Very inclusive approach to an art exhibition. It actually included a large room of art made by local families! Coooooooool.
